BOWTIEs Brings Back the Vintage Trend

Could this be the next big thing?

Vintage fashion is certainly making a comeback in so many ways, shapes and forms. We often think of vintage handbags, hats, and shoes for women, without realizing the various classic fashion trends in the men's wardrobe. Consider, the bow tie. It was used as long ago as 17th century, when men needed a way to hold their collars together. Though they began with a very practical purpose, now, they are used more as an accessory to complete a formal outfit.

We generally see the bow tie at important events, such as in weddings, accompanied by tuxedoes, and we've all heard the term "black tie event" to describe something that is supposed to sounds impressive. However, these little scraps of fabric are starting to be welcomed back into society, and we are beginning to see them in all varieties and forms. Bow ties are no longer just solid black or white, but they come in plaid, polka dot, striped and all sorts of prints. They are once again joined with plain white shirts, slacks, and perhaps even suspenders for a classic vintage look that is still endearing today.

Bow ties are a great thing to collect because you will rarely see the same tie twice and you can wear them like art.

We hope to bring the vintage trend to a new generation.

MODERN VINTAGE: What Does It Mean?

“It is easily overlooked that what is now called vintage was once brand new. “ - Tony Visconti
To put it simply, Modern Vintage mixes the old to the new.

Modern vintage interior design presents to us a big catalogue of old, retro and classical furniture, which have the ability to look contemporary and pretty even nowadays.

In the meantime, modern vintage home accessories are mostly beautiful and functional since household items used to be useful and long-lasting rather than eye-catching. Personalization is another important and lovely element that is closely linked to the vintage interior design. This element may represent our lifestyle.

People still tend to go back in time and decorate their homes with old time things. Well, not necessarily old – but looks old or somewhat renewed like old typewriters, old frames and pictures, old models of cameras, or even treasure boxes!

We brought you some sample.

These rusty industrial pendant lights as well as the metal counter stools and wood ladder bring the vintage; the crisp contemporary kitchen amenities bring the modern.

Another factor is color palette. A cheery green wallpaper, crisp white desk and clear glass keep things modern, while the cafe chair and the telephone bring on the vintage.

Freshening up old furniture makes it modern. New fabric and a new coat of paint, combined with grey walls and a groovy ceramic lamp result in the look.

Many pieces can be vintage and modern at once. These pieces are icons from the eras of International Style and Mid-Century Modern.

So don't be afraid to mix and match to your space of your own. It's fun!
